Top Indian female swimmers in 2023 for different strokes

We’re discussing four Indian women swimmers who gained recognition at the recently concluded 2023 Senior National Aquatic Championship. The national competition took place in Hyderabad, and this year witnessed the smashing of numerous records.

The 76th Senior National Aquatic Championship 2023 was held in Hyderabad, Telangana from July 2 to 5, 2023. It was approved as a qualifying event for the Paris 2024 Olympics by World Aquatics.

The top performers at the meet were Aryan Nehra and Lineysha AK. Aryan Nehra won four gold medals and was adjudged the best swimmer in the men’s category. Lineysha AK was crowned the best women’s swimmer.

Nina Venkatesh

Nina Venkatesh created new records for the 50m and 100m butterfly at 27.74 and 1:02.51 respectively in the recently concluded Senior National Aquatic Championship

With her performance in the Nationals, where she represented Karnataka, Nina secured her spot for the Asian Games. This was a big part of her career. She has been training in Dolphin Aquatics for the past 12 years.

In Bengaluru, Nina has been receiving guidance from Nihar Ameen, a coach distinguished by the Dronacharya Award, since 2011. She mentions him as an exceptional coach who over the course of 12 years, has been her mentor. She has exclusively trained at the Dolphin Aquatics under his guidance. She owes a significant part of my progress to his guidance.

Maana Patel

Maana Patel holds the record for 50 m backstroke for 29.30 and 100m backstroke at 1:03.48.

Maana Patel has gained significant recognition for her outstanding abilities in the backstroke swimming category. Her proficiency in executing the backstroke technique has earned her praise and accolades.

Maana Patel is an Indian backstroke swimmer from Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She is the first Indian female swimmer to qualify for the Olympics in the backstroke event. She represented India at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the women’s 100m backstroke event. She finished 36th in the heat of this event.

Maana Patel started swimming at the age of 7. She quickly rose through the ranks of the Indian swimming circuit and won several national and international medals. In 2017, she became the first Indian female swimmer to win a medal at the World Junior Swimming Championships. She won a bronze medal in the 50m backstroke event.

Back in 2019, Maana Patel made it to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. This was a big deal because she became the first Indian girl swimmer to qualify all on her own for the Olympics since Shikha Tandon did it in 2004.

Lineysha AK

Linesysha AK holds the national record for 100m breaststroke at 1:12.67 and 200m breaststroke at 2:37.35 secs

Lineysha AK is an Indian breaststroke swimmer from Karnataka. She has won several national and international medals, including a gold medal at the 2022 Asian Swimming Championships.

Lineysha AK started swimming at the age of 10. She quickly rose through the ranks of the Indian swimming circuit and won several national medals. In 2019, she broke the national record in the women’s 100m breaststroke event. She also won a gold medal in this event at the 2019 South Asian Games.

Lineysha AK is a rising star in Indian swimming. She is a determined and dedicated athlete with a bright future ahead of her.

Dhinidhi Desinghu

Dhinidhi Desinghu is a young Indian swimmer from Bengaluru, Karnataka. She set a record for 200m freestyle at 2:04.24 at 2023 Senior National Aquatic championship.

Dhinidhi Desinghu started swimming at the age of 8. She quickly rose through the ranks of the Indian swimming circuit and won several national medals. In 2022, she broke three national records in the women’s 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, and 200m backstroke events. She also won gold medals in all three events at the 2022 Junior National Aquatic Championships.

Dhinidhi Desinghu was trained in Dolphin Aquatics in Bengaluru

Hashika Ramachandra

Hashika Ramachandra holds the record for 200m individual medley for 2023 Senior National Aquatic Championships at 2:21.15.

Hashika Ramchandra is a 15-year-old Indian swimmer from Karnataka. She is a freestyle and butterfly specialist, and she has already set several national records in her career. Hashika represents Karnataka and has trained at Dolphin Aquatics in Bengaluru.

In 2022, Hashika Ramchandra won six gold medals and a bronze at the 36th National Games in Gujarat. She set new meet records in four of her events, including the 200m butterfly, 400m freestyle, and 4x200m freestyle relay. Hashika Ramchandra’s performance at the National Games earned her the Best Female Athlete award.

She started swimming at the age of 7, and she quickly showed her potential as a freestyle and butterfly swimmer.
